How did you find out about Get Loose?
I pick up our veg bag from Growing Communities at Hackney City Farm every Wednesday. One Wednesday Jacki was there with a couple of bags of beans and some tins - now look!
What is your role and what does it involve?
I’m not really sure I have a specific role. That’s the great thing about Get Loose, you can get involved in whatever exciting idea/project is on the go. For a while now we’ve been trying to tackle fabric and clothing waste in some small way in the form of our special Get Loose Sew-cials, where anyone can get together and be creative. There’s always some delicious food courtesy of Get Loose and a great atmosphere. Look out for the next one!
Why do you love Get Loose?
I love Get Loose because of what it represents as well as the welcoming, get stuck-in atmosphere. It’s all hands on deck for most things; it doesn’t matter whether you’re an expert or a complete beginner you can get involved. Community is really important to me and Get Loose is definitely a living community! The other thing about us is that you can be sure there’s no greenwashing here.
What is your Favourite product and why?
My favourite product at Get Loose is the yoghurt from Kappacasein. It’s creamy, full-fat and goes well with anything you want to put on top. I also love that they cycle it up from Bermondsey every week.
If you could promote Get Loose on a tube advert what would you say?
Get Loose: Where else can you shop that’s inclusive, honest and does a delicious dried broad bean!? See you there!
